BOOK PLANNING DAY

"I found the book planning sessions with Sophie immensely helpful, insightful, inspiring and enjoyable"

Penelope Newton-Hurley

Getting your ideas out of your head and down on paper so they make sense to someone else is hard.

How do you know what to write in each chapter so your reader can follow? What should you include and what should you leave out? Who are you actually writing for, and what's the best way to talk to them?

My Book Planning Day is an intensive, one-to-one planning session. It’s ideal for authors starting from scratch on all types of non-fiction, but is perfect for business books, history, memoirs, self-help and mind/body/spirit.

At every stage of the Book Planning Day you'll benefit from my years of publishing experience, as well as my creative talent for structuring books. By the end of the day you'll have a clear idea of the market for your book, a full chapter outline and a sensible writing plan for getting the job done in the time you have available.

HOW IT WORKS

Whether you take the Book Planning Day in one session or two half-day sessions, we start the day by discussing your goals for your book, who your reader is and the type of book you want to write. I’ll then show you how to fully research your market, learning from the other books in your subject area and defining your USP. We’ll create a title, subtitle, blurb and introduction ideas for your book and a detailed contents page that acts as the recipe you’ll use as you write. At the end of our day together all of this is yours to take away and use however you like—either on your own or as the beginning of a coaching relationship with me.
